I’ve been teaching yoga for 8 years, but movement has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’m a dancer, surfer, and forever a student of anything that helps me feel more connected to my body and the world around me. I completed my 200hr training in 2018, my 300hr in 2023, and have since had the honor of leading a 200hr teacher training of my own!

I took my very first yoga class in September of 2013 with my neighbor Jess, who was opening a little studio in Silverlake called One Down Dog. That class turned out to be one of the most important classes I’ve ever taken, and the beginning of a practice that continues to shape how I move, breathe, and show up in my life. When I’m not on the mat, my 11-year-old keeps me on my toes and offers daily lessons in curiosity, flexibility, and presence (parenting is no joke). I love motorcycle rides, weekends in the desert, and getting lost in a really good book. Continuing education is my jam! I recently completed my 200-hour teacher training. I’m also a certified EMT, which has deepened my respect for the body, resilience, and staying calm when things get real. As the middle child of six, I’ve developed strong skills in diplomacy, adaptability, and perhaps most importantly, making sure I still get a piece of the pie.

I grew up in Berkeley and initially started doing Yoga because it was offered at my climbing gym. Pretty soon I was hooked! Throughout the years, yoga has helped me in all aspects of my life, and deepening my practice has been incredibly rewarding. In my spare time I also like to do Ballet and Martial Arts.

I’m a photographer/videographer who was first introduced to yoga on a photography intensive in college! Though I am new to a truly consistent yoga practice, I am proof that it’s never too late to begin. I’m so grateful ODD has created a safe and welcoming community to practice, play, focus, and process all life has in store. I love the way yoga makes me feel, work, and be.

In summer 2024, I launched my own family portrait, newborn, and headshot business. For the past 3.5 years, I’ve also been working in TV and film production, supporting different short & feature films, TV shows, music videos, and commercials. I am an experienced and enthusiastic Camera Operator, Camera Assistant, and Production Assistant. Before my Hollywood days, I was a Digital Video Producer who created content for CNBC Make It and Business Insider. My work with CNBC and Insider Inc. has garnered millions of views on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter. I graduated from Syracuse University’s S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a B.S. in Photojournalism and a minor in Music Performance. In my free time, you’ll find me singing with the Jewish Treble Choral Project, dancing at Zebulon’s 90s/00s night, baking challah, catching a comedy show at Club Tee Gee, or enjoying the sunshine on the beach or a long walk.

While I originally hail from Ann Arbor, MI, California has been home for the last five years and counting. I grew up in the arts and was a huge musical theatre dork (I even got a degree in it!), but always felt uncomfortable expressing myself through dance and movement… until I found yoga. Yoga helped bring my awareness inward, allowing me to release any worries I had about what my body looked like when it moved through space. It felt like freedom.

In 2022, I signed up for my 200-hour yoga teacher training at Yoga108 in Long Beach the day before it started (yep!), and I’ve been teaching ever since. Off the mat, you’ll probably find me at who-knows-which music venue catching a concert, then putting all of my favorite songs from that show on my next yoga playlist. Music and movement are the things that bring me the most joy, and I love that I’m able to share that in each class I teach.

I started Pilates in after being diagnosed with EDS (hypermobility). From my second session, I realized movement and pain didn’t have to go hand-in-hand, and I knew I wanted to share that feeling with others. After moving to NYC in 2013, I jumped into my 500hr comprehensive Balanced Body training while finishing my degree in psychology. I spent the next decade teaching all over the city. Over the years, I’ve expanded my toolbox with certifications in pre/postnatal Pilates, myofascial release, and nutrition, and I now co-write and co-run Pilates teacher-training programs that help new instructors grow their confidence and careers. In 2023, I moved to Los Angeles and have been having the best time building a community and laying in the sunshine.

I like long walks on the beach, weenie dogs, and cultivating community. Obsessed with visuals, I’m about creating a shop that feels just as warm and welcoming as our classes: think cozy vibes, intentional products, and stuff you’ll actually want to share. My gymnastics days taught me discipline; finding yoga taught me self-compassion. When I’m not rearranging the shelves (again), you’ll find me sweating it out in class or camping under the stars.

I was that kid who could never sit still and have always expressed through movement. I started Pilates at a young age alongside my development in dance and am fortunate that both have continued into my adult years. Being raised by a Mexican mother and Japanese father, I learned the importance of believing in self and equality and art as protest continues to be at the forefront of my life. More recently I’ve also dived into the martial arts world through Muay Thai so really all I do is MOVE!

I have always been a mover. From ballet and long distance running as a kid, to teaching yoga, followed by an endless pursuit of knowledge in Pilates, strength, mobility, and posture and respiration therapy, I am a lifelong learner. I love gardening, parrots, New Orleans, pickles, laying in the sun, and Formula 1. Credential stuff: Studied at Northwestern University, 200 hour vinyasa yoga teacher training, FRC mobility specialist, Equinox classical mat Pilates, CSCS, and many courses with the Postural Restoration Institute.
