“We have learned that trauma is not just an event that took place sometime in the past; it is also the imprint left by that experience on mind, brain, and body. This imprint has ongoing consequences for how the human organism manages to survive in the present. Trauma results in a fundamental reorganization of the way mind and brain manage perceptions. It changes not only how we think and what we think about, but also our very capacity to think.”

Bessel A. van der Kolk, The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma

In other words, our bodies remember what the mind tries to forget.

As we approach the anniversary of the wildfires that devastated so many in our community, we pause to honor what still lives within us: stress, loss, uncertainty, but also resilience.

This Somatic & Sound class is your space to remember, listen to what your body needs in this moment, and renew. Through slow, intentional movement and gentle, somatic yoga, you’ll be guided to listen inward — to move with presence, release stored tension, and reconnect with the body’s innate “capacity to think."

The practice unfolds into a grounding sound bath: a meditative immersion in live crystal bowls and soothing frequencies that support the nervous system, inviting deep rest and emotional reset.

Come as you are.

Breathe. Feel. Remember.

Let the vibrations carry what’s ready to be released — and make space for what’s ready to grow.
