One Down Dog began as one of those big scary dreams in the mind of Jessica Rosen. You know the one – that vision you just can’t seem to shake, the thing that keeps you up at night, the goal you can’t let go of even though every rational bone in your body says it’s crazy. For years Jessica dreamt of opening a community space. For years she lived in self-doubt. For years she felt it was impossible… until it wasn’t anymore.

One Down Dog became a reality when insane amounts of hard work met sheer determination and the love and support of family and friends. On January 26^th, 2013 we held our first class in our temporary location. Since our opening day we have grown exponentially and created the most amazing community of dynamic individuals - you!!

All that being said, we are ready to move forward. We are ready to plant our roots and stick around for a while. We are ready for our forever home where we can continue to grow. This is where you come in…

what we need

We are currently in negotiations with a location in our neighborhood (don't worry folks, we're staying in Silverlake!!). This move will allow us to offer so much more - with two yoga rooms we will have a FULL schedule with a wide range of classes (YAY!!) including bootcamp, restorative yoga, TRX, Pilates, Buti yoga, kids yoga, massage, acupuncture, meditation, pre-natal, and so much more! In addition, we will have an area to hang out with free wifi, a store full of products you love and a facility where you can have fun, laugh, get a great workout and connect with real people!

While the location is perfect, the square footage is exactly what we’re looking for, and it meets most of our needs, the space needs some love and TLC. We will need to do the following:

• lay wood floors with added sound-proofing
• build benches with cubbies and comfy pillows to hang out on
• update the bathrooms
• paint the walls pretty colors
• set up our super awesome retail shop

It has always been our belief that alone we can do a lot of great things, but together… together we can move mountains, which is why we need your support in helping us to build our beautiful community space, a place that provides a service and feels like home to everyone that walks through the doors. Because for us, this isn’t just about business, it’s about offering something up to the community that we feel is missing on the East Side, it’s about community and service work.
