    FAQ

Do I need to pre-register for class?

Pre-registration is highly recommended for all classes. To sign in for class, you can scan your One Down Dog key tag or give your name to desk staff when you arrive.

    When should I arrive?

Please arrive fashionably EARLY! We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes in advance of class.

    What should I wear?

Wear comfy clothing that you can move easily in, remove your shoes prior to entering the studio. Please refrain from wearing perfumes or strong scents.

What should I bring to my first class?

If you have a yoga mat, bring it and maybe a towel and water too. If you don’t have these items, no biggie. We have rental mats available for $4 and mats, towels, and water bottles available for purchase.

Where can I put my belongings?

Shoe cubbies are at the front entrance and each yoga room has cubbies for your goodies too. Please make sure to leave your cell phone on silent.

How often should I practice yoga?

Depending on your goals and schedule, 2-4x per week consistently will support noticeable and lasting results. The majority of our students are 3x per week kinda folks!

    What is the late policy?

There is no late entry for students once class begins. Late arrival is considered a late cancellation.

What is the class cancellation policy?

Cancellations with less than 3 hours notice will result in a $15 charge for anyone on an Intro Special or Unlimited Membership or a class will be deducted if you have a class package. If you can’t make it to class, be sure to cancel the reservation within 3 hours on our website, the app, or give us a call and we’ll be happy to help you out! This allows students on the waitlist to get into class.

    What is the waitlist policy?

Should class sell out, we will have 5 waitlist spots available, our system will text or email you to let you know if a spot has opened up.

What is the minimum age to take class?

Kids 12-15 must be accompanied by an adult to participate in class. 16+ may attend on their own with parental consent. Kids under 12 are welcome to attend our Kids Yoga classes. We are not responsible for your children and are unable to watch them while you practice.

    Are dogs allowed?

Although we love your fur babies, we aren’t able to accommodate them at the studio. We are not responsible for your dogs and are unable to watch them while you practice. We cannot allow dogs into the yoga room.

Why choose One Down Dog as my home studio?

Because we’re here for the long game.

One Down Dog is a Los Angeles–based, community-driven yoga and fitness studio built around movement that actually supports your life. We focus on habits over hypehow you feel over how it looks, and practices that are sustainable, supportive, and steady—not all-or-nothing.

Our experienced teachers bring a wide range of backgrounds and styles, offering classes that meet you where you are, whether you’re craving something strong and energizing or slow and grounding. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s consistency that feels doable, nourishing, and motivating over time.

From your first class, you’re part of a welcoming, inclusive community that values care, connection, and showing up as your real self (however ODD that may be). This is a place to build lasting strength, mobility, and ease—one practice, one breath, one Down Dog at a time.

Do I need to be an experienced yogi to attend class?

Not at all. One Down Dog is designed for real people, not perfect poses.

You don’t need prior yoga experience to feel at home here. Our teachers offer clear guidance and accessible options, and we encourage you to move in ways that feel supportive to your body. There’s no single “right” way to do a pose—what matters is listening to your body, avoiding pain, and choosing the version that helps you feel steady and strong.

Modifications, props, rest, and curiosity are always welcome. If you’re ever unsure, our teachers are there to offer thoughtful suggestions so you can practice safely and confidently, exactly where you are.

Will yoga help with my wellness goals?

Yes—especially when it’s practiced consistently and sustainably.

Yoga at One Down Dog supports a wide range of wellness goals, from building strength and mobility, to managing stress, improving focus, and simply feeling better in your body day to day. We focus less on quick fixes and more on practices that create lasting change through regular, supportive movement.

By making steadiness easy and showing up doable, yoga becomes something that fits into your life—not another thing to perfect. Over time, that consistency adds up to more ease, resilience, and care—on and off the mat.
