Join Sam Akers, ERYT500, C-IATY, MFRT for this special Engaged Yin and Metta Class complimented by a crystal bowl sound bath. Engaged Yin incorporates engaging muscles while stretching as well as some resisted stretching, which our nervous systems seem to respond to more quickly than passive stretching alone. This way of practice also strengthens and protects the ligaments. Poses are held 2-5 minutes while students are guided to practice loving kindness phrases for themselves which support the body, heart and mind in a friendly way that deepens our rest and relaxation. This class will focus on the chinese meridians of the winter season, and the often overly taxed kidneys.
Class is appropriate for ALL bodies. Sam is a very beloved teacher at ODD, and we only get to see her a few times a year - so hop in if you can!
