Although the city of Los Angeles is finally seeing a slight decrease in the size of its unhoused population, there are still more than 42,000 Angelenos with no place to call home. Just days after we all vote on unhoused services funding, Elisa Barretta will lead a donation-based RESTORE class to support Hope the Mission in their charge to prevent, reduce and eliminate poverty, hunger and homelessness through immediate assistance and long-term solutions. Gently move through 5-10 passive, restful postures supported by props and cushions to ease into relaxation – a much-needed respite from the anxiety of Election Day that will support the unhoused community in their battle for the respite of home. A friend of Elisa's is currently working on a documentary feature film following the 2 leaders of Hope The Mission as they take a 3,500 mile bicycle ride across America exploring the root causes of homelessness and engaging with communities, activists, and policy makers, so your attendance in class will be part of spreading this message and education far and wide, providing more visibility and help for the city's unhoused population.
Cost: Donation based (*ODD will match up to $250)
