My Class Style:
Expect a playful, intentional flow with creative transitions, eclectic music and plenty of opportunities to get curious about how you move. While weβll definitely have fun (and probably get a little sweaty), I also place an emphasis on alignment, not for the sake of making a pose look a certain way, but as a tool for understanding our bodies better and finding movement that feels good in them. Classes often weave in yoga philosophy, a grounding theme and somatic-inspired movement, and may build toward a peak pose, but there is never one βrightβ way to practice. My hope is that you leave feeling a little more present, connected and at home in your body.
I first found yoga as a teenager at YogaOasis in Tucson. Coming from a dance background, I was used to thinking about how movement looked, and yoga asked me to pay attention to how it felt. There was something incredibly freeing in that shift - moving with less concern for how it appeared and more curiosity about what was actually happening in my body. Over time, yoga became a constant through all of lifeβs ups and downs, a practice I could return to again and again, helping me get out of my head, back into my body, and a little closer to the present moment. I completed my 200-hour YTT while living in Seattle just before the pandemic, and after a few moves from Seattle to NYC to LA, Iβm so happy to have found a home teaching at ODD.
