This year some of us baked bread, started gardens, and others... well, we just learned to feed ourselves regularly.
Here are some day to day recipes One Down Dog teachers made all the dang time.
Place 2 pieces of bread in toaster oven with cheese on one slice (I use Diaya mozzarella), lightly toast. Place 3 slices of turkey (or fake turkey) on top of cheese. Spread a layer of stone ground mustard on top. Spread strawberry jam on other piece of toast. Add large handful of arugula, sliced onion, mild peppers.
boom! delicious sando!
My sister's 2009 pinterest pin finally came in handy in May. I was deeply craving some "crap food". Meet my Impossible Meat Crunchwrap Supreme recipe.
Prep your "ground meat" with cumin, coriander, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onions... etc. Chop your tomato and shred your iceberg lettuce.
Warm your burrito tortilla slightly so it's easier to work with. Place a handful of chopped tomatoes and shredded lettuce in a circle in the center. Sour cream a tostada generously. Place sour cream side onto the lettuce. Spread nacho cheese on the other side of the tostada. Place cooked "ground meat" on top of the circle. Fold snuggly and carefully all edges in. FLIP to sear the edges together on a hot hot skillet - cast iron preferred. Place something heavy, like another pan, on top of the crunchwrap to help sear it shut. Sear gently on both sides. ENJOY. Use your leftover taco sauce packets from drive through.
A good hummus goes along way as a topping or an entire meal all on it's own. We've attached the link to the recipe Hallie uses to get this super smooth creamy and light hummus!
