My mom always pushed me to go to yoga with her when I was in high school, but I was incredibly stubborn and never went, wish I would have listened then! I grew up as an athlete - I played soccer, softball, and was a cheerleader. I didn't think yoga was for me. I took my first yoga class as a college elective, but I didn't start practicing regularly until after school. I moved to LA to work in the entertainment industry, which sounds very glamorous, but it was more like "The Office" - I was living the cubicle life. Practicing yoga has helped me balance the stress of work and everyday life, but it also reduces the pain I have from working at a computer. While I was working 9 to 5 (but really to 7 or 7:30), I decided to sign up for a teacher training to further my practice. That's when everything changed. To put it simply, I realized cubicle life was not the life for me and it was time to put happiness first. Now I work at One Down Dog full time as an instructor, I'm also the "Manager of Many Things." I've been a part of the ODD Fam for a while now, I went to the studio's very first class in 2013 and completed ODD's inaugural teacher training in 2014. I am also trained in Yin, Trauma-Informed Yoga and I completed the ODDFIT training. I also have a Pilates Certification. Nothing beats the high you get at the end of a yoga class and I look forward to sharing that with you!
