#ODDlight: Meet Our New Teacher, Thais!

Jul 22nd, 2021 Abbigail #ODDlight, Blog

Thais (tie-EEs) has a magnetic energy and will make you feel welcome, included, and seen. She completed the One Down Dog mentorship program with Courtney Sauls, so you can definitely expect theming and intention along with fun and creative movement.

About Thais Menendez

"My mom took me to my first yoga class at age 18, and I've never looked back. I completed my 200-hour training in 2014 with my original teacher in Miami and went on to teach wherever my journey took me--Spain, Washington DC, and now, Los Angeles. For me, yoga has always represented a respite from anxiety or other troubles, whether physical or spiritual, and I became a teacher to share that healing potential of yoga with others. I am also an actress and an educator, and I spend my time off the mat surfing, making Cuban coffee, rollerblading, traveling, cooking for friends, and spreading awareness about issues close to my heart."

Pronouns: she/her

Hometown: Miami, FL

Tell us about your favorite music!

"The Strokes, Buena Vista Social Club, Y La Bamba, Emily King, the pop divas, all things surf rock, reggaeton, and classic rock."

What's an ODD fact about you?

"I was named after a French opera by Jules Massenet, inspired by my grandma's time as a singer in Cuba."

What's your class style like?

"Take an all-levels flow and add some big smiles, dry humor, and an international playlist & you've got my class! I blend traditional yoga teaching with modern vibes and always offer a theme or thought to guide you through your practice."
