day 25 – happy

happy

5 more days!!
I got my first birthday card today from my hubby’s grandma.  A moment of reality – I am really almost 30. Woah.

The card read:

It’s your birthday.
Take a look within yourself, discover your heart’s desire, and pursue it with enthusiasm.  In other words…
DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY!

Considering this whole blog process has been about putting myself out there and committing to creating a life that makes me happy, this card could not have been more perfect.

So what makes me happy?

Yoga makes me happy
My favorite things make me happy
Being of service makes me happy

Ultimately though, happiness lies within me – no matter what shit I get myself into, no matter what life throws – through my yoga practice, my choices, my actions - I create my own happiness.  Yoga has taught me how to bring more joy into my life and the lives of others, how to be of service. I have made it my happiness mission to share this practice with others and to inspire others to do the same.  Yoga is far more than a pose on a mat – it is a formula for reducing suffering and increasing joy.  More happiness, less crappy-ness.

In yoga no effort is lost, nor loss of progress found.

Yoga offers the tools, path and the goal. Yoga asks us to look at what we’re giving our attention to – do you like it? is it important to you? Yoga clarifies our values and then offers a path to creating more of it.  Yoga is experiential.  Yoga deepens our relationship with anything –good/bad, negative/positive – we get to choose.

Yoga takes you into the present moment, the only place where life exists.

The one who sees the goal most clearly is the closest to it.

What is your happiness mission? What are you doing today to make it a reality?  Share in a comment below.  Let's make the world a happier place #OneDownDog at a time.
