Yoga Nidra (or the Yoga of Sleep, but more aptly translated to "To Draw Forth From the Void") is an ancient, powerful practice of deep relaxation of the body, mind, and spirit. Practitioners are guided into profound and transformational rest, where they can safely and lovingly release physical, mental, and emotional tensions, allowing them to release old patterning and Re-Member their truest selves. A gentle yin practice, this is perhaps one of the most inclusive and accessible forms of Yoga: all you have to do is lie down, and enjoy the ride.
With incredible science confirming the physiological power of Nidra, and old Yogic wisdom to help understand the philosophical and spiritual potential, Yoga Nidra is a nourishing practice for everyone, leaving us feeling whole, embodied, rejuvenated, and inspired.
About Sam Bianchini:
Growing up a performing artist in Chicago and then LA, Sam was introduced to yoga in 2005 during her training as an actor and knew immediately this practice was what she had been searching for. She studied in the lineage of Tantra (via the lineage of Rod Stryker and Pandit-Ji), and her training draws extensively from Sri Vidya, Forrest Yoga, Para Yoga, Bhakti, Ayurveda, and Wise Feminine and Shamanic Practices. She began her teaching career in Los Angeles 10 years ago, where her classes quickly became sought after spiritual and community sanctuaries.
Sam has taught all around the world, offering workshops, retreats, and teacher training. Outside of the studio, she is an actress, director, producer, musician, and writer, as well as a lover of great wine, wolves, Tom Waits, Tom Robbins, Leonard Cohen, and her furry best friend, Guy. Sam is fiercely committed to making yoga for all beings, and to actively decolonizing Yoga in the west, as well as bringing awareness to the very needed anti-racism work in the Yoga and healing world to make yoga available for all our relations.
